Frances Baird McKelvey was a renowned portrait and landscape artist who specialised in painting Ulster’s beautiful landscapes. He grew up as an ordinary working class boy in North Belfast, but his artistic talents and love for the scenery of his native Ulster lead to a successful career as an artist. He was regularly commissioned to paint important portraits and landscapes. One of his most famous commissions was of the six US presidents with Ulster ancestry.
Frank McKelvey’s body of work demonstrates the beauty of the Ulster scenery and captures the beauty of his home.
